CCPD Officer Resigns, Other Suspended Following Excessive Force Fallout Johnny Heath Corpus Christi News Blog

A thorough investigation has revealed that two Corpus Christi Police Officers used excessive force when arresting a self-confessed killer. Officer Daniel Jimenez has resigned from the police department in lieu of being fired. Senior Officer Michael Smotherman has been suspended without pay. Scott Leeton, the President of the Corpus Christi Police Officers Association, spoke to 3news on the officers behalf.
