Family Of Young Murder Victim Speaking Out Against Scammers Johnny Heath Corpus Christi News Blog

Tuesday marked two weeks since the shooting death of 13-year-old Alex Torres. The young boy was fatally shot when he answered the door at his grandparents Southside apartment back on January 13th. Since then the community has come through by donating money to help pay for Alex's funeral. But now there is word that scammers are using Alex's name to raise money. Money that's not going to the family. Our Briana Whitney spoke to Alex's grandmother and a man that nearly fell victim to the scam.
