March Held to Pay Tribute to the Late Cesar Chavez Johnny Heath Corpus Christi News Blog

He fought for the rights of farm workers and to this day, his legacy goes on. Today was the 16th annual Cesar Chavez March starting at Agnes and Port Avenue. The march - which ended at the Antonio E. Garcia Arts and Education center honors the legacy of the Mexican-American labor rights activist. Dozens of marchers and supporters were in attendance. Chavez was born on March 31st of 1927 and died in April of 1993 at the age of 65.
