Boy Scouts of America Held Pinewood Derby Race Saturday Johnny Heath Corpus Christi News Blog

The Coastal Plains District of the Boy Scouts of America held their annual District Pinewood Derby race at Allen Samuels Chevrolet Saturday. Pack 5 and Troop 16 of Flour Bluff sponsored the event. Girl Scouts and parents were also there to support. The Pinewood Derby is in its 62nd year of existence and was originally started as a way for a father and son to do something together. To build the cars, each scout was given a block of wood made of pine, four plastic wheels, and four nails. ###
