Security Personnel Regain Control of Prison in Raymondville Johnny Heath Corpus Christi News Blog

Security personnel say they have regained control of the Willacy County Correction Center in Raymondville. It was Friday when the disturbance began. Inmates had set fires and caused significant damage after taking over part of the prison. Right now about 300 of the 2800 inmates have been moved to other federal prisons. Officials say the facility is now uninhabitable due to damage caused by the inmates. Those transfers will continue over the next several days until all inmates are relocated. ...
